Traci Hernandez has been a member of the ASD Board of Directors since 2021.

She brings with her over 25 years of educational experience as a teacher, professional development facilitator, and consultant. She holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the USA.

In her role on the Board, Traci has played a vital part in ASD’s achievements, notably by participating in the revision committee for ASD’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values. She has also been involved in four leadership hiring committees, including chairing the Board’s hiring of the current School Director. As the Chair of the Governance and Personnel Committee, she guides important discussions regarding personnel matters, ensuring fairness and transparency. Traci and her husband have been residents of Doha since 2008 and are parents to two ASD Dragons who are currently in 7th and 9th grade. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys playing golf with family and friends.

Dr. Shaikha Al-Jabir was appointed an ASD Board Member by the US Ambassador in 2007, and is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. Her three children graduated from ASD, Mariam in 2008, Abdulrahman in 2010 and Abdulaziz in 2018. She has diversified experience in telecommunications and information technology. From academia, she joined Kahramaa as CIO in 2000, moved to Ooredoo in 2010 as Group Commercial Executive Director. Currently, Dr. Shaikha is heading a family business, Rock Real-Estate Investment, and is also a Board member of Doha TechAngle, an investment club investing in technology startups.

Dr. Shaikha holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Surrey (UK), an MS in Telecommunications and Computers from George Washington University (USA), and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Kuwait University.

Craig Lamb is the Finance and IT Manager for ConocoPhillips Qatar. He is a Director of Qatar Liquified Gas Company Limited (3) as well as a member of the Qatargas Operating Company Limited Board Audit Committee. Craig has ~25 years of oil and gas experience with ConocoPhillips and has held numerous finance related roles in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Australia, the United States of America and Indonesia before taking up his current position in Qatar.

Bader Al Mana has been a member of the ASD Board of Directors since 1996. He has children who attend ASD and some who are alumni. Mr. Al Mana is the Managing Director of Al Mana Automobiles and Director of Al Mana group.

Khalifa Al Rayes has been a member of the ASD Board of Directors since August 2010. He is currently holding the position of Executive General Manager – Government, Public Sector & Deputy Head of Wholesale Banking at Commercial Bank of Qatar. Since joining Commercial Bank in July of 2005, as Head of Branches, Khalifa has held several senior management positions and enjoyed working in every capacity.

Prior to joining Commercial Bank of Qatar, Khalifa held the position of General Manager, Assistant to the General Manager and Sales Manager at Gulf Air Airlines in Qatar, Germany and the United Arab Emirates.

Khalifa graduated in March 1989 from the University of Denver in Colorado, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Chinar started at ExxonMobil Qatar in summer of 2023 as Vice President and Ventures Manager. In this capacity, he is responsible for all ExxonMobil’s interests in LNG and non-LNG assets related to Qatar. Prior to this, he was the Planning Manager for ExxonMobil’s Upstream Company in Houston, TX.

Chinar started his career with ExxonMobil in 2007 in Houston. He has held a diverse range of senior leadership and engineering assignments within the company covering Research, Engineering, Operations, Strategy and Business Planning. He has worked on ExxonMobil assets in West Africa, Russia, and the United States during his career.

Chinar holds a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Mumbai and a Master’s and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Chinar and his wife, Komal, have two children that attend American School of Doha in the Elementary School.

Christiaan De Luigi is a career U.S. Foreign Service Officer currently serving as the Director of the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) at Camp As Sayliyah. Previously, he held the position of Political-Economic Chief in Algiers and Deputy Director of the Office of Threat Finance Countermeasures in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs. His earlier assignments include acting Deputy Director of the Office of Levant Affairs, Economic and Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Manama, Economic Officer for the Iraq Desk, and Consular Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara.

Before joining the Foreign Service, Christiaan worked at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance, and Training. He is fluent in French, Portuguese, Spanish, and Turkish.

Christiaan holds a bachelor’s degree in International Politics from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He is married and has two daughters.

Joseph M. Hernandez, originally from Paterson, New Jersey, and a long-time resident of Doha, Qatar, serves as the Assistant Dean for Admission and Strategic Enrollment Management at Georgetown University in Qatar. With nearly 25 years of experience across the non-profit, governmental, and higher education sectors, he has been instrumental in shaping academic programs and student support services. His work at Georgetown includes developing a global recruitment and enrollment plan for its undergraduate program in Qatar. Before Georgetown, he worked with the Institute of International Education (IIE) and Global Kids, Inc.

Mr. Hernandez holds a dual MBA from Georgetown University and ESADE, along with certificates in Higher Education and Global Business Development, and a Bachelor’s in Philosophy (Summa Cum Laude) from Seton Hall University. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including NACAC and NAFSA.

He is married to Melissa Deschamps, a Regional Director for the U.S. Department of State’s EducationUSA program, and they have three children. In his free time, Joseph enjoys photography, cycling, scuba diving, and playing golf.

Dr. Tania Jaber, a physician and educator from Lebanon, currently serves as a Consultant in Endocrinology at Hamad General Hospital and as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar. She brings extensive experience in academic medicine, quality improvement, and thyroid cancer care. She completed advanced training at MD Anderson Cancer Center, the University of Texas Health Science Center, and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

An active contributor to national and international endocrine guidelines, Tania serves on multiple institutional boards and is widely published in peer-reviewed journals. She earned her medical degree with distinction from Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar and is board certified in both Endocrinology and Internal Medicine. Fluent in English and Arabic, she lives in Doha with her husband and two sons, who have attended the American School of Doha since 2019.

Bader Al-Kuwari, a Qatari business and international affairs professional, currently serves as Director of Strategic Accounts at Ooredoo Qatar. He brings extensive leadership experience in strategic planning, finance, and international cooperation from roles at the General Tax Authority, Qatar Development Bank, and TASWEEQ. Bader holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from King’s College London and a Bachelor’s from Qatar University.

An active member of the American School of Doha community with five children enrolled, Bader is committed to supporting the school’s growth and sustainability. Fluent in Arabic and English, he has participated in numerous international forums and completed executive education programs in leadership and strategy. He lives in Doha with his family.

Masha Kotkin is an economist from the U.S. specializing in energy markets, economic inclusion, competition, and geostrategic risk. Ms. Kotkin spent over a decade at the U.S. Department of State, most recently serving as an Energy and Economic Advisor focused on the Middle East and North Africa. In this role, she led agreement negotiations, conducted economic analysis, and coordinated policy development across the U.S. government. Her work centered on energy markets, supply chains, regulatory frameworks, competition policy, labor force inclusion, and trade.

Prior to joining the Bureau of Energy Resources, Ms. Kotkin served at U.S. Embassies in Jordan and Turkey, covering a broad range of economic issues. Ms. Kotkin also worked as an economist specializing in competition law at EconOne, Nathan Associates, and the Cohen Group.

Ms. Kotkin holds an M.A. in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a B.A. in Political Science from New York University. She speaks Russian, Arabic, Turkish, Ukrainian, and some Spanish.
