Director’s Message
Welcome to the American School of Doha.
It is a privilege to welcome you to ASD — a school driven by purpose and defined by a deep sense of community. Whether you are new to ASD, a current member of our community, or a visitor interested in learning more, I invite you to discover what makes our school such a vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring place to learn and grow.
Founded in 1988 through a partnership between the U.S. Embassy and leading members of the Qatari community, the American School of Doha was established to serve and empower the growing international community in Qatar. Over the past 37 years, ASD has stood proudly among the world’s leading American international schools. ASD is known for its warm community, unwavering commitment to excellence, and a legacy of preparing students to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
ASD is a diverse international community, rooted in American educational values. We are home to over 80 nationalities united as one ASD Family. We intentionally lean into that unity. We lean into the strength of our relationships. We lean into the power of our purpose. And we lean into the joy of learning together.
At the heart of ASD is our clear and compelling Vision: to empower Learners to discover their passions, develop talents, and positively impact our world. This Vision isn’t just a statement on a wall — it guides our decisions, impacts our programs, and shapes our culture.
We are proud to be a school that values honesty, respect, responsibility, and kindness. These Values are lived through the way our students challenge themselves academically, interact with others empathetically, and engage compassionately with the world beyond our campus. From Pre-K through Grade 12, our learners are encouraged to ask big questions, take meaningful risks, and explore their passions in ways that prepare them for both university and life.
Whether you're walking through our hallways, experiencing a student performance, cheering at an athletic event, or learning more about our curricular offerings, I hope you sense the energy, care, and purpose that define our exceptional school.
Thank you for visiting — and welcome to the ASD family.
Warm regards,
Senior Leadership Team
