Discovering Interests and
Developing Passions
Our Elementary Program begins the journey for our students, with a focus on recreation and participation. Students in Grades 2-5 can participate in sports and activities, while those in Grade 1 can join our activities program. All students are welcome, and the program is intentionally designed to include students of all ability levels. Our hope is that students will feel comfortable trying new things and find joy through participation.
There are some competitive opportunities for various sports within the Qatar Private Primary Schools Sports Association (QPPSSA). These are single-day events, and a team is selected to represent ASD from the students involved in the corresponding program. Students must be in the After-School program for the sport in order to be selected to the team. The teams are chosen based on skill, commitment, and our ASD values.
For those interested in the Arts, we also offer a large Choir program, and the Grade 5 class puts on a Musical each year.
Each year, the Elementary School (ES) offers a wide variety of After School Activities (ASA) in addition to athletics. These activities provide students with a wide range of learning opportunities, enabling them to discover new interests and develop existing passions.
Parents register their children for the programs through the SchoolsBuddy platform. The first step is setting the priorities for each child. The program then randomly assigns students to activities based on their selected preferences.
There are four Elementary School seasons, and each season offers a variety of sports and activities. The sports and activities are run by faculty and staff volunteers. The seasons, and the sports and activities offered in them, can change based on the calendar, but below are some examples.
