Every learner at ASD is empowered with the tools, facilities, and support they need to thrive—on campus and beyond. This is where school life flows smoothly, giving students the space to learn, explore, and grow.

Facilities

The American School of Doha offers state-of-the-art facilities designed to support academic excellence, creativity, and student well-being. Classrooms are modern and technology-enabled, while specialized spaces include science and computer labs, art and music studios, a library media center, and dedicated learning commons.

Sports and recreation facilities feature a gymnasium, outdoor fields, courts, and a swimming pool. These safe, innovative spaces provide students from Pre-K to Grade 12 with the environment to learn, explore, and thrive.

Library Media Center

The American School of Doha (ASD) is at the heart of learning, and the libraries are at the heart of ASD. The main goals of the libraries are to promote and foster a love of reading, to help students become independent lifelong learners through research and information literacy, and to encourage a culture of creativity. The libraries provide print, digital, electronic, and physical resources. Library resources are provided for the interest, information, and enlightenment of all members of the ASD community.

Library materials are selected to provide patrons with a wide range of resources, encompassing multiple levels of difficulty, in a variety of formats, with diverse appeal, and that allow for the presentation of many different cultures and points of view. Library patrons are allowed to choose freely from the collection; teacher-librarians provide guidance as appropriate. Materials selected will enrich and support the curriculum and/or meet the personal interests of members of the school community.

ASD has two libraries on campus, our Elementary School (ES) Library and our Middle School/High School (MS/HS) Library. Our libraries are lively, welcoming spaces, with four teacher-librarians and a library support staff ready to assist students and teachers in finding the right resources for their personal interests and academic needs. The teacher-librarians regularly collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy lessons into the school’s curriculum and to encourage a love of reading. A wealth of print, digital, and electronic resources is available to the ASD community, and students and faculty are welcome to drop in at any time throughout the day. For more details on what our libraries offer, please visit our ES/MS/HS Library websites.

Technology

The American School of Doha (ASD) understands how important it is for our students to acquire the technological skills that will not only help them participate in today’s technological era but also excel, compete, and become leaders in a globalized, competitive world. They must become innovative thinkers, able to ask questions, research, and find solutions in the world's fastest-changing industry today.

Technological education is central to all our lives today, and the development of technologically literate individuals throughout the school is a priority for us, our students, and for. The school's technology platform enables teachers to engage students, present content, evaluate performance, and provide ongoing feedback. Students are active participants in their own learning, striving for academic excellence, and exploring what it means to be a positive, active global citizen.

Learning activities enhanced by technology help students become confident and competent in 21st-century technological skills, while also enabling them to use technology tools to improve their communication, information-gathering, and presentation skills.
